Pulse Points – Essential Oil Aromatherapy

Hi This is Kate.

With essential oils, we are told that the benefits come from applying to pulse points. Just what are pulse points we ask? Any place on your body where an artery can be compressed close to the skin is the actual answer as to where we can find them. The first place that comes to mind of course is our wrists. When I attended my first essential oils class, this was the common place of application. When I decided to look into just how many pulse points we have, the answer I found was 9. Really 9 pulse points, that’s good to know. Giving just few of those different areas of application for the purpose of this short blog would be the inner elbow, behind the knee and the neck and even at the ankle joint. All these areas are where the one’s pulse can be easily detected. When someone goes in for a medical emergency you will most often experience your pulse being measured at the wrist.

Lets get into the topic of pulse points in Aromatherapy. Even when applying a perfume or a cologne, it has always been recommended that we should apply to our pulse points. For instance behind the ear area, can be quite the romantic spot to apply a perfume. When applying essential oils we most often want the benefit of helping us feel more confident or motivated and to have a feeling of less stress. Even with perfumes, the scents have been known to help emotions. Aromatherapy is very beneficial especially using essential oils. When we apply any number of essential oils onto our wrists and then breath them in, this is aromatherapy, when we diffuse essential oils, this too is aromatherapy. Prior to studying essential oils, personally the olfactory system, was unknown to me.

The olfactory system is how when we breath in any scent, we have over 150 receptors outside of our nose. This seems so hard to believe, but our body is a miraculous system for sure. In short these scents trigger our brain and somehow our brains respond. The findings of essential oil scents has been found to be very therapeutic.

As I have suggested to my friends and family, its time to look into what essential oils could benefit you and your health and lifestyle. Recently, I have had classes held in my home and have had a number of different friends relatives and acquaintances come on board with the usage of essential oils in their homes. Any one in my team, will be glad to offer assistance in consulting with you and what might be best for you and your family, based on each personal need. You will most likely get invited to an online or in person class on essential oils where you can sample oils first hand.
