🌿 What Self-Care Means to Me: Restoring from the Inside Out

What is it for you?

Self-care isn’t a bubble bath or a scented candle—though I love those, too.
For me, self-care is restoration. It’s the daily work of honoring a body that’s been through stress, trauma, and depletion. It’s choosing nourishment over neglect, hydration over hustle, and rest over guilt.

As someone developing resources in functional nutrition and addiction recovery, I believe self-care starts with rebuilding what chaos breaks. That means sleep. That means gut healing. That means taking time to feed the body so the brain can breathe again.

Self-care is choosing magnesium-rich foods instead of skipping meals.

Through my lens, self-care means trusting that healing happens when we remove pressure, add purpose, and invite grace. It’s remembering that God doesn’t ask us to earn rest—He offers it.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

Whether I’m journaling, drinking electrolyte water, diffusing calming oils, or simply breathing between client meetings—self-care reminds me to be a steward of the vessel I live in.

Because when I care for myself, I become a better resource to others.
